The 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, a component of the 403rd Wing located at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Miss., is a one-of-a-kind organization. It is the only unit in the world flying hurricanes on a routine basis.

This site is in spanish, and can be very very slow to connect to, but they do provide some prespective into tropical weather. The do provide several radar sites that provide coverage beyond the range of US radar. although they do tend to go down in large storms, and stay down for a while afterwards (Eastern end of the island is still down a week and a half after Hurricane Dennis has past)
The Meteorological Service of Canada (MSC) is Canada's source for meteorological information. The Service monitors water quantities, provides information and conducts research on climate, atmospheric science, air quality, ice and other environmental issues, making it an important source of expertise in these areas.
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) maintains a continuous watch on tropical cyclones from 15 May in the eastern Pacific and 1 June in the Atlantic through November 30. The Center prepares and issues forecasts, watches and warnings within text advisories and graphical products.

The Hurricane Research Division (HRD) is a part of the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML). We are engaged in advancing the basic physical understanding and improving the forecasts of hurricanes and tropical meteorological systems. A key aspect of HRD's activity is its annual field program of flights aboard NOAA's research aircraft (two WP-3D turboprops and a Gulfstream IV-SP jet) flown by NOAA's Aircraft Operations Center.
