The Weaker the Tropical Cyclone, the Further West the Storm May Go
Did you know that tropical cyclones that remain weak as they track westward have less of a chance to re-curve to the north? This is because the stronger the storm, the higher the cloud tops extend into the upper-atmosphere. Higher in the atmosphere, the wind flow is normally more likely to carry the storm a bit further northward. This is especially true for the Cape Verde storms.
