A COLD FRONT APPROACHES HAMPTON ROADS… FORECASTERS ARE NOT PREDICTING WIDESPREAD RAINFALL WITH THIS FRONT… A DEPRESSION MAY BE DEVELOPING SOUTHEAST OF HISPANIOLA

A cold front will be moving through Hampton Roads Monday night with nothing more than an isolated shower or thunderstorm according to forecasters. That is bad news since we need the rain badly here in SE VA. August has been a very dry month here locally. Once the front goes through, our winds will become NE and then E. So, once again, winds off the ocean will provide a nice couple of days with temperatures and humidity levels that are easy to take for late August. Forecasters believe that Fay’s moisture will never really make it into the region. A tropical depression may be developing near Hispaniola and we’re really going to have to keep an eye on this storm as it could be a threat to the US in the future. Again, the storm will have to deal with the mountainous islands so we’ll have to see what type of track it takes

** In the event of severe weather in you area, please consult the official National Weather Service forecast office for any severe weather watches or warnings in your area at Weather.gov.
