We were supposed to be experiencing the initial effects at sunset, that didn't happen, first rain did not occur until 11PM and the NHC is constantly moving Irene to the right and reducing wind speed with every report. But watching the weather channel, is rapidly becoming a joke with the hype involved, they even track what going on with twitter, could someone tell me what twitter has to do with the weather? I can understand maybe getting some feedback on current conditions, but the storm is more then 24 hours out from New York and the weather channel feels that people tweeting the word subway in NYC is relevant. I really hope and feel my gut is right on this, and that it will be a lot of rain and wind but not a lot of damage here in Virginia. Y'all be safe and stay dry, and use common sense... Ok Dave
