WE’LL SEE AN ACTIVE WEATHER PATTERN NEXT WEEK… WARMER TEMPERATURES AND A CHANCE OF RAIN WILL START THE WEEK ON MONDAY… ANOTHER STRONG COLD FRONT IS FORECAST TO DROP TEMPERATURES AGAIN BY MID-WEEK ALONG WITH ANOTHER CHANCE OF RAIN

High pressure will be in control this weekend bringing mostly sunny skies each day, but it will be quite chilly. Winds will not be much of a factor, however. Temperatures should only peak out in the 40’s on Saturday and they will drop back into the 20’s later Saturday night for most of us here in Hampton Roads. Sunday should be just a bit milder. Temperatures Sunday night are expected to rise overnight as a warm front approaches the region Monday morning. Monday is expected to be a much warmer day with a chance of rain at times. A cold front will move through later on Monday putting an end to the rain chances. Weak high pressure should give us a decent day on Tuesday but a strong cold front is expected to move through the Mid-Atlantic States on Wednesday. This combined with low pressure developing to our south and east should bring a chance of rain to our region. As the colder air moves in later on Wednesday, areas well to our north and west may see a little frozen precipitation. As of now, the Hampton Roads area is not expecting any problems with frozen precipitation. If you are traveling at that time, make sure you check on updates in the forecast. Temperatures are expected to be well below normal again later in the week behind that strong cold front. Another low pressure system may approach the region as we head towards next weekend bringing precipitation.

That’s it for now. Have a great weekend!

WE’LL HAVE A CHILLY WEEKEND BUT IT SHOULD REMAIN DRY… A PERIOD OF UNSETTLED WEATHER WILL BEGIN SUNDAY NIGHT AND LAST THROUGH WEDNESDAY… TUESDAY IS LIKELY TO BE THE WETTEST DAY OF THE FORECAST PERIOD… A VERY COLD AIR MASS IS FORECAST TO ARRIVE LATE IN THE WEEK

Saturday will feature sunny skies and chilly temperatures, but overall, it should be a decent day for early December. The average high temperature for this time of year is around 56 degrees. We will probably only reach the low fifties in most areas around Hampton Roads. Clouds begin to increase on Sunday out ahead of a developing low pressure system near the Gulf Coast. Sunday will be another chilly day. Rain should hold off until Sunday night or early Monday morning. That will be round one of the rain as another system is expected to bring rain on Tuesday and the rain may last into Wednesday. We may get a good soaking on Tuesday, depending on how this system evolves. On Thursday, conditions are expected to improve, but another cold front will be on the way. This front is expected to bring the coldest air mass of the season so far. As it looks right now, the very cold conditions are likely from Friday through next weekend. Meteorological winter has begun which means we have entered the three month period (Dec/Jan/Feb) that averages the coldest three months of the year. Astronomical winter begins on December 21st.

That’s if for now. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!
