RAIN CHANCES GO UP LATER SATURDAY… SUNDAY LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE CHILLY AND DAMP… LOW PRESSURE MOVES AWAY BY MONDAY ALLOWING FOR THE RETURN OF SUNSHINE

The nice, mild weather of the past few days is history as a low pressure system organizes to our southwest. The low will move through the region tonight and tomorrow bringing with it some rain and breezy conditions.  Note that the computer models are still not in total agreement as to how this system evolves. In previous computer model runs, some of the models had more wrap-around moisture on Sunday as the low moved offshore. Now, they seemed to have backed off on that idea. Either way, it’s not going to be a nice weekend with a chilly northeast wind and occasional chances of rain beginning most likely Saturday afternoon/evening in most spots. Areas to our north may see some snowflakes mix in tonight and Sunday. A few inches of snow is expected in parts of the Northern Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern States, so be careful if you’re heading up there. On Monday, the low moves away and we should see a return of sunshine. Temperatures are expected to return to above normal levels by mid-week… Spring begins on Sunday at 12:30 AM EDT. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

CLOUDS SHOULD DOMINATE THE SKIES THIS WEEKEND AND THERE WILL BE A CHANCE OF A SHOWER… HOWEVER, IT WILL NOT BE A WASHOUT BY ANY MEANS AND TEMPERATURES WILL BE ABOVE NORMAL… RAIN CHANCES CONTINUE INTO MONDAY… NO COLD WEATHER IS IN SIGHT AS WE GO INTO THE LAST WEEK OF THE WINTER SEASON

The “heat wave” ended early on Friday as a cold front moved through the region. This brought an end to the record breaking heat. The current weather map shows a complex low pressure system over the Gulf Coast states. This is the system that caused the severe flooding in parts of that region over the last few days. A frontal boundary extends eastward from this system and is now to our south. As weak disturbances move through the region this weekend, we will see lots of clouds and there’ll be just a chance of a shower. Rain amounts, if you receive any, should be light today (Saturday). There is not much showing up on the radar right now. Temperatures will be on the mild side and there really isn’t any cold weather in sight over the next several days. Rain chances go up somewhat on Monday, but I don’t think Monday will be a washout. Conditions should dry out on Tuesday. Don’t forget that daylight saving time starts tomorrow (3/13) . Spring begins next Sunday (3/20).  Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!
