UNSETTLED WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AS A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM DEVELOPS OFF THE COAST… IMPROVING CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED THIS WEEKEND WITH A WARMING TREND LIKELY NEXT WEEK

I want to start off by saying that there is a lot of uncertainty in the forecast for the Thursday through Saturday period. Computer models have not been in full agreement with regards to a low pressure system that is expected to develop off the Southeast Coast. Some have brought it closer to the coast bringing heavier rain and stronger winds to SE VA and NE NC. However, other computer models keep the low pressure area further offshore bringing less rain and wind to the area. Either way, I think we’re going to have a period of unsettled weather beginning Thursday and then the question is when will it move out? There is another complicating factor that the low pressure area may be slow to move away possibly prolonging the wet and breezy weather. Friday is expected to be very chilly for this time of year. The official NWS forecast for Saturday as of now indicates that it will mostly sunny. Hopefully, that forecast is correct. Next week, there is expected to be a long awaited warm up and we might even be talking about a Bermuda High pressure system. That’s it for now. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
