HAMPTON ROADS GETS A BREAK FROM THE COLD WEATHER… THE TIMING COULDN’T BE BETTER SINCE IT’S THE WEEKEND… DON’T GET TOO USED TO THE MILD WEATHER AS ANOTHER ARCTIC BLAST MAY IMPACT OUR REGION LATER IN THE WEEK

Temperatures this Saturday afternoon are quite pleasant for this time of year. High pressure to our south is causing a southwesterly breeze, which is bringing in some of that milder air that folks across parts of the south and southwest have been enjoying. We’ll see similar conditions on Sunday and it will probably be even warmer. Over the next few days, there is expected to be a front that will run generally west to east well to our north. The front will separate very chilly air to the north from relatively milder air to the south. Areas of low pressure are expected to ride along the front creating precipitation to our north. Some light rain is possible on Monday. If you are traveling to the Northeastern States, significant snow is likely in some areas that were already hard hit this winter. After the possibility of light rain or showers on Monday, the remainder of the week is expected to be dry for the most part. There is expected to be another Arctic blast later in the week, probably Thursday night and Friday. Stay tuned as the timing of the Arctic front is uncertain right now. According to the National Weather Service, we may not even get above the freezing point on Friday with very windy conditions! Ouch! We’ll see if that forecast verifies as it is several days from now. So, enjoy the above normal temperatures this weekend and get outdoors if you can. That is it for now. Have a great weekend!
