RAIN CHANCES INCREASE TODAY AS A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM AND ITS ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT APPROACH THE AREA… SUNDAY WILL BE MUCH COOLER WITH WINDY CONDITIONS… ANOTHER STORM SYSTEM MAY IMPACT THE HAMPTON ROADS AREA LATER MONDAY

We’ll see quite a few changes in the weather over the next several days. After a rather non-eventful week, the weather pattern has become active again. Today (Saturday), we’ll see mostly cloudy conditions with rain chances increasing by this afternoon. A low pressure system and its associated cold front will bring a good chance of rainfall to the Hampton Roads area later today and tonight. Winds should be on the light side today but winds will be on the increase tonight and tomorrow as the pressure gradient between a very strong high pressure system to our north and low pressure to our east tomorrow increases. Winds could gust to 40 MPH tomorrow, especially near the coast. Forecasters are expecting between a half inch and a an inch of rain. Temperatures will be on the mild side today but Sunday temperatures probably won’t get out of the 40’s (or possibly the low fifties) in most areas. It is not certain how much sunshine we will see on Sunday. As it looks now, areas in our southeastern zones will see more clouds. Then, on Monday, our attention will turn to another low pressure system that is expected to move up the coast. This next storm could bring some tidal flooding issues so stay tuned. That’s it for now. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
