CLOUDS DOMINATE THE SKIES AS A FRONTAL SYSTEM SLOWLY MOVES OFFSHORE… BY THURSDAY, WE SHOULD SEE MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES WITH SEASONAL TEMPERATURES

A huge dip in the jet stream (upper-level trough) to our west is producing a moist southwesterly flow aloft. This, combined with disturbances in the flow, will maintain a chance of showers and should keep us mostly cloudy today (Tuesday). However, rainfall will not be as widespread as it was on Monday. About a half inch of rain fell in my neighborhood on Monday. Severe weather including a tornado was reported in parts of North Carolina on Monday causing injuries and property damage. The frontal system will be moving out to sea but a weak disturbance may yet again bring a shower or two on Wednesday along with some clouds. On Thursday, we should totally dry out making for a very pleasant day. That’s it for now. Have a great day.
