THE WEATHER PATTERN STAYS ACTIVE BUT WE SHOULD SEE RAIN AT VARIOUS TIMES THIS WEEK INSTEAD OF SNOW

The pattern this upcoming week will feature multiple chances of precipitation but due to a shift in the pattern, it should be in the liquid variety and not the frozen. The first opportunity for Hampton Roads to receive rain is on Monday. There will be another chance during mid-week and yet another next weekend. While cold air intrusions will still be occurring in the United States, they will not penetrate this far south with the intensity of the past few weeks. If you are traveling, there will be plenty of winter weather issues to our north and west so make sure you monitor forecasts this week. As a result of the changes in the upper-level winds, the parched state of California may finally receive some much needed wet weather, but not nearly enough moisture to put a dent in the extreme drought conditions there… The NFL gambled on the weather in Northern NJ today and it looks like they got lucky. Neither extreme cold nor snow will impact the Super Bowl…. Since we are now in early February, our average temperature has begun its rise which will reach its maximum in the month of July. We still have a lot of winter to go so don’t put away your sweaters and scarfs just yet!
