AS THE COLD FRONT MOVES OFFSHORE, SKIES WILL SLOWLY CLEAR… A COOL DOWN IS ON THE WAY BUT ANOTHER BRIEF PERIOD OF WARM WEATHER IS POSSIBLE NEXT WEEK

Rain showers moved in on schedule on Friday. They were scattered throughout the day but the rain became more widespread as Friday evening progressed. The rainfall was welcome as we have a precipitation deficit for the year. Although my rain gauge showed about an inch of rain fell, reports from around the region aren’t that high. The cold front is now moving offshore so conditions will slowly improve from west to east. Temperatures will be trending downward the next few days. On Sunday, high temperatures probably will not rise above 60. Monday should be even cooler! No rain is expected for the next few days.¬†Another warm-up seems likely later next week, along with the possibility of more rain or showers. The tropical Atlantic is quiet. We’re now in the final month of the Atlantic hurricane season.
