THE DAMP WEATHER CONTINUES THIS WEEKEND… THINGS SHOULD IMPROVE BY THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK

This will be just a brief post as I have a limited amount of time this morning. The system that brought us all the heavy rain and wind this past week is still lurking close by and it will make another swipe at us this weekend. Although we probably won’t see rainfall rates that we saw earlier this week, we should add to the rain bucket later today through Monday. High pressure building down from Eastern Canada will keep us in a northeasterly flow and will also push the low pressure area southward off our coastline. As the winds increase again, tides will also come back up but only minor coastal flooding is likely. There will be periods of drizzle and light rain but as the low makes a return, the rain may become steady at times later today and tomorrow. My Virginia Beach neighborhood received over 9 inches of rainfall this week! That literally wiped out the rainfall deficit that we had. I will have a more extensive post tomorrow (Sunday).
