A COLD AIR MASS MOVES IN FOR THE WEEKEND… TEMPERATURES MODERATE EARLY NEXT WEEK… ANOTHER COLD AIR MASS IS ON THE WAY FOR LATER IN THE WEEK

A cold front moved through the Mid-Atlantic States Friday night and in the wake of this front, the air is much colder. High temperatures on Saturday probably won’t get out of the 40’s despite bright sunshine. Breezy conditions will make it feel even colder. Sunday morning will probably be the coldest morning so far this season in many areas. Sunday will be another chilly day with a bit less of a breeze. Temperatures moderate early next week and there may be some rain or showers on Tuesday. Models differ on how much rain we will receive but it doesn’t look like a very potent system. Then, another cold air mass arrives by mid-week… I was reading in today’s newspaper that the Mid-West drought has resulted in very low river flow levels for the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. There really isn’t any relief in sight. Of course, a snowy winter in the Mid-West would help the situation in the long term.
