A STRONG HIGH PRESSURE TO THE NORTH AND LOW PRESSURE OFF THE SOUTHEAST COAST ARE CAUSING A NORTHEAST WIND THAT WILL PERSIST FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS

As the headline states, the rather strong high pressure system to our north combined with low pressure off the Southeast coast are causing the breezy to sometimes windy conditions here across Hampton Roads. The persistent onshore flow is causing minor tidal flooding and rough seas. The winds should relax somewhat as we get to the mid-week period. Then, conditions should be quite nice during most of the Thanksgiving weekend. We may finally see temperatures rise to the 60’s by then. What about rain chances? Well, that’s the difficult part of the forecast. While the Outer Banks has a relatively good chance of seeing some rain from the system off the coast, it’s hard to say whether any rainfall will occur here in Hampton Roads. The forecast right now has 40% chance of rain for Sunday night and Monday. The highest chances will be the further south and east you are.
