MONDAY WILL BE ANOTHER CLOUDY AND COOL DAY… RAIN CHANCES RAMP UP MONDAY AFTERNOON FOR HAMPTON ROADS… BY MID-WEEK, SUNSHINE SHOULD RETURN ALONG WITH WARMER TEMPERATURES AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS INTO THE MID-ATLANTIC STATES

The weather map this Monday morning shows a stationary front off the Carolina coast. A disturbance is tracking eastward across VA and NC which will increase the chance of rain as it approaches the area this afternoon. Coastal areas may even see a heavier period of rain, but overall rainfall shouldn’t be too excessive with this system. Winds will mostly be out of the northeast off the water. Yesterday (Sunday), about a quarter of an inch of rain fell in my Virginia Beach backyard. We could see similar amounts today and possible more in some spots. As it looks now, we should see more sunshine by Wednesday as high pressure builds into the Mid-Atlantic States. Temperatures should be warmer, possibly reaching the lower 70’s.  It should stay dry into next weekend.
