DESPITE A SUNNY START TO THIS WEEKEND, UNSETTLED WEATHER IS MOVING IN AS A COMPLEX AND RATHER DISORGANIZED LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM APPROACHES HAMPTON ROADS

As I write this post, the sun is shining and it looks like a beautiful spring day lies ahead. However, looks can be deceiving. As the headline states, a complex and rather┬ádisorganized low pressure system is approaching the Mid-Atlantic States and as a result, rain/showers will overspread the region today. There may even be some isolated severe weather as a cold front approaches later in the afternoon and evening… Yesterday (Friday) an isolated thunderstorm dumped three quarters of an inch of rain on my neighborhood. We’re going to add to that rainfall total today and tomorrow as the low pressure system moves through. The thinking now is that there will be increased rain chances today with the surface low and cold front. Then, on Sunday, when an upper-level low pressure system slides across the region, there should be another round of showers/storms. The chance of rain will slowly diminish Sunday night and Monday should be nicer with a cooling trend that will continue through Tuesday. I’ll post an update on Sunday morning.
