A BACK DOOR COLD FRONT BROUGHT COOLER AIR TO HAMPTON ROADS ON SATURDAY… THE ONSHORE FLOW BROUGHT LOW CLOUDS AND EVEN FOG IN FROM THE OCEAN… ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES SHOULD RESUME THIS WEEK

Saturday started out very nice here in Virginia Beach, but a cool onshore flow brought low clouds in from the ocean. Fog also moved in right along the coast. Temperatures dropped Saturday afternoon and it really felt quite raw during the evening. The low clouds are expected to dissipate Sunday and temperatures will again be cooler near the water. Monday should be a nice day. There may be a shower or two on Tuesday but nothing significant is expected. The next chance of rain probably won’t be until next weekend. No major cold air masses are expected this week as the jet stream stays well north of the region… Although most of the eastern part of the nation had a very mild winter, parts of Alaska had an exceptionally snowy and cold winter. Nobody knows for sure what lies ahead in the long term, but you wonder if we will have to pay for this mild winter. Only time will tell. Thanks for reading and have a great day.
