SPRING SEEMS TO HAVE COME EARLY WITH RECORD BREAKING TEMPERATURES AND THUNDERSTORMS IN SOME AREAS

This past week, Hampton Roads had record breaking warmth as the temperature hit 87 degrees on Thursday. On Friday, thunderstorms broke out as a back door cold front moved into the region. Almost an inch of rain fell in my backyard Friday evening. The weekend should be decent and a little cooler, but clouds are expected to be around due to the lingering boundary to our south. A light onshore flow will prevail which should make it cooler near the water during the afternoons. We’re at that time of year when we see many days when temperatures are cooler near the water due to the fact that it takes a while for the ocean and bay to warm up. On Sunday, I’ll take a look at next week’s forecast. Have a great day and Happy St Patrick’s Day!
