AS HIGH PRESSURE SETTLES INTO THE REGION, OUR WINDS HAVE SLACKENED OFF MAKING SUNDAY A CHILLY BUT SUNNY DAY… TEMPERATURES WARM BACK UP THIS COMING WEEK WITH RAIN CHANCES INCREASING BY MID-WEEK

Saturday’s strong winds were the result of a strong low pressure system over Southeastern Canada. I was travelling up to NJ on Saturday and it was even windier up there with snow flurries occurring every once in a while. As the low pulls away, our winds have slackened off making Sunday a rather nice, but chilly day. This will probably be the coldest day of the week as a warming trend will set in on Monday. There seems to be two chances of rain this week, one during the mid-week period and the other next weekend… Meteorological Winter will soon be ending and we will see our average temperatures start to rise more steadily. The Mid-Atlantic states really dodged the bullet this winter with very few winter storm threats. As I mentioned in previous posts, this was mostly due to a lack of a blocking pattern which seems to be continuing.
