FRIDAY WILL BE A WARM AND WINDY DAY WITH A POSSIBILITY OF SHOWERS/STORMS… THE WEEKEND WILL BE MUCH COOLER

A strong cold front will be moving through the Mid-Atlantic States Friday night but ahead of the front, a surge of very warm air will bring unseasonable temperatures to Hampton Roads. The front might be preceded and accompanied by showers and thunderstorms, some of which could be severe. Winds will be very gusty ahead and behind the cold front. The weekend will be much colder as a cold high pressure settles into the region behind the intensifying low pressure system that will be moving away to the northeast. High temperatures on Friday should be around 80 and high temperatures on Sunday may not get to 50. I’ll have an update on the extended forecast on Sunday.
