ANOTHER WARM UP IS ON THE WAY… RAIN CHANCES INCREASE ON TUESDAY… THERE IS NO SIGN OF A PATTERN CHANGE THAT WOULD BRING SUSTAINED COLD TO THE LOWER 48

Temperatures on Sunday probably won’t rise above 40 in most of Hampton Roads. However, as has been the case numerous times this season, another significant warm-up is on the way. On Tuesday, temperatures should get into the lower 60’s. There will also be a chance of showers on Tuesday as a frontal system moves into the region… A look at the national radar shows very little precipitation nationwide this morning. A very weak low pressure system is moving off the NC Coast, but won’t cause any problems for us… The overall weather pattern, which has been keeping the coldest air locked up in northwest Canada and the Alaska area,  has not changed that much and it is not expected to over the next week or two. This will keep most of the lower 48 from experiencing brutal sustained cold which was so prevalent last year. No major snowstorms are in the forecast for the Mid-Atlantic States. Every so often, we see a winter like this. Will the pattern change later in the winter? Nobody knows for sure. The ski resort operators hope it will.  That’s it for now. Thanks for reading and have a great day.
