THE WEATHER PATTERN THIS WEEK WILL BE QUITE ACTIVE WITH TEMPERATURE FLUCTUATIONS AND TWO CHANCES OF RAINFALL

A cold front moved through Hampton Roads overnight and it will stall out to our south. A weak area of low pressure will move along the front producing a period of wet weather on Monday.¬† With an easterly wind and cloud cover, Monday’s temperatures will probably peak out in the upper 40’s. On Tuesday, we will be in between systems and it should be a nice day with temperatures a little above normal. Then on Wednesday, a more potent system will be approaching which will bring an increasing chance of showers. Temperatures will be mild ahead of this system, so precipitation type will not be an issue. Colder air will close out the week behind this system… Note that there are still no signs of sustained cold and stormy weather here in the Mid-Atlantic states. Will we make it through the entire winter without a long period of cold weather? It’s hard to say at this point. Where is the really cold air? Alaska and Northwestern Canada have been in the grip of a very cold Arctic¬†air mass. So far, upper level winds have not been able to bring this air southward into the lower 48 for a long period of time… That’s it for now. Have a great day.
