THE UNSETTLED WEATHER PATTERN SHOULD CONTINUE THROUGH SATURDAY… CLOUDS SHOULD KEEP TEMPERATURES FROM RISING TOO HIGH BUT IT WILL FEEL QUITE MUGGY DUE TO HIGH LEVELS OF HUMIDITY

The unsettled weather pattern began on the 4th of July and it started out with a bang in my neighborhood. I’m not talking about fireworks. I’m referring to very heavy thunderstorms that dumped over an inch of rain in my backyard. It has been a very long time since I received an inch of rain in one day. The lightning was very intense causing power outages across parts of Hampton Roads. On Tuesday, I received another third of an inch from an isolated thunderstorm that also produced intense lightning. The unsettled weather is a result of a stationary frontal boundary and disturbances moving across the region. This is expected to continue through Saturday. It will not rain all the time but heavy rain and/or thunderstorms can occur at any time. Most of the activity will probably occur during the afternoon and evening. The boundary will drift north and south throughout the period. Will we make up for the huge rainfall deficit? It’s hard to say but at least¬†it should be a good dent in the¬†drought. That’s it for now. Thanks for reading and have a great day.
