HUMIDITY LEVELS INCREASE ON MONDAY AFTER A VERY NICE WEEKEND… RAIN CHANCES INCREASE SOMEWHAT ON MONDAY… A COLD FRONT MAY BRING HAMPTON ROADS SOME MUCH NEEDED RAIN ON TUESDAY

As I stated in Saturday’s post, this is a great weekend for doing just about anything outdoors. Clouds from a complex of rain and storms passing by to our southwest may bring some cloudiness to our skies later on Sunday. As the flow becomes more southerly, humidity will be on the increase on Monday. This may result in an isolated shower/storm or two during the afternoon on Monday. Forecasters are saying that there is a better chance of rain on Tuesday as a cold front approaches the area. It’s not an especially strong cold front but it could be the trigger to bring some rainfall for parts of the area. I’m hopeful that we see some significant rainfall, which is desperately needed. It’s very difficult from 48 hours out for forecasters to predict exactly who will see the storms on Tuesday. There are numerous variables that come into play that have to be considered. After the passage of the cold front, a drier air mass will move in which should maintain low rain chances through Friday. Regarding the ongoing drought, in May, only 0.90 inches of rain fell in my backyard. June is running below normal for most of Hampton Roads with around two inches falling so far this month in my backyard. July is normally our wettest month of the year and we’ll see if this July lives up to that potential. That’s it for now. Have a great day and thanks for reading.
