THE DROUGHT WORSENS ACROSS PARTS OF EASTERN VIRGINIA AND NORTH CAROLINA… WE’RE ENJOYING A NICE BREAK FROM THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY

A cool and dry air mass moved into the Mid-Atlantic States on Friday bringing spectacular conditions to Hampton Roads. I hope that you were able to turn off your air conditioner and open up some windows. We’ll enjoy another day (Saturday) of low humidity and pleasant temperatures. Meanwhile, a weak low pressure system and a cold front will be approaching from the north and west which will impact our weather on Sunday. This system may bring some areas a shower or two on Sunday, but rain chances are very uncertain at this time. With the drought worsening across parts of Eastern Virginia and North Carolina, I am hoping that we see some rain but I’m not that optimistic based on what I’ve read on the Internet. Right now, the NWS gives us a 40% chance of rain in Sunday. I saw a report on the news about how some farmers in Virginia Beach are suffering due to the drought. As I’ve said repeatedly before, my neighborhood has been missed by nearly all of the thunderstorms that impacted Hampton Roads over the past several weeks. Looking ahead, we dry out on Monday and we should stay mainly dry through Thursday. Temperatures slowly inch upwards as we head through the week so enjoy this comfortable weather while it lasts. Have a great day and thank you for reading.
