A STRONG AND RATHER LARGE HIGH PRESSURE AREA SLOWLY MOVES OFF THE MID-ATLANTIC COAST… THIS RESULTS IN A FANTASTIC HOLIDAY WEEKEND FOR HAMPTON ROADS… THE HEAT RETURNS TO CLOSE OUT THE WEEKEND

You really can’t ask for better weather this holiday weekend here in Hampton Roads. A sprawling high pressure system over our region will only slowly move off the coast. Saturday will be a sunny day with comfortable temperatures and humidity levels. As the high moves offshore, the resulting southerly flow will bring back the heat and humidity. By Monday, afternoon temperatures should be back in the 90’s. So, enjoy the relatively low humidity levels while they last. Rain chances this weekend will be virtually non-existent for much, if not all,¬†of the area. That is bad news for the areas that didn’t see any rainfall this past week. My neighborhood got “lucky” on Tuesday when thunderstorms dumped about three quarters of an inch of rain. Many areas did not see much that day and are now bone dry. The next chance of any showers/thunderstorms probably won’t be until Friday at the earliest. Enjoy your weekend and stay safe!
