DESPITE A COLD FRONT IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO HAMPTON ROADS, SATURDAY SHOULD TURN OUT TO BE FAIRLY NICE… SUNDAY SHOULDN’T BE BAD EITHER, BUT RAIN CHANCES INCREASE EARLY NEXT WEEK

Scattered showers and storms moved through Eastern VA last night but they just grazed my neighborhood. Areas to my north and west did receive some rainfall. Earlier in the week, we finally did receive significant rainfall and I picked up 1.20 inches of much needed rain in my backyard. As the headline states, Saturday looks to be a nice day with temperatures probably peaking around 80 in Southside Hampton Roads. Humidity levels will be moderate to high the further southeast you are. The cold front will stall just south of our region on Sunday and then it will slowly work back northward early next week. Although there will be a chance of a shower on Sunday and Monday, forecasters don’t think that the chance will be that great. However, beginning Monday night, the rain chances should increase and Tuesday we should see our best chances of rain. The increased rain chances will be the result of a disturbance moving eastward out of the Mississippi River Valley. I read on one NOAA site that rainfall could be quite substantial on Tuesday here in the Southern Mid-Atlantic states. So, enjoy the weekend as the weather should be nice enough for most outdoor activities. I’ll have an update on Sunday morning.
