THE GREAT SPRING WEATHER CONTINUES… TEMPERATURES SHOULD TREND HIGHER TOWARDS MID-WEEK… RAIN CHANCES INCREASE LATER IN THE WEEK, BUT THERE IS UNCERTAINTY AS TO HOW WET IT WILL GET

High pressure is controlling our weather and will continue to do so for the next few days. Easter Sunday will be superb with plenty of sunshine. A weak cool front crossing the region shouldn’t bring anything more than a few clouds to SE VA. Temperatures should trend higher as we get towards the middle of the week. The next significant system to affect our area is giving the computer models a tough time. One model paints a rather wet scenario for us on Thursday and Friday while another is not quite as wet. Enjoy the early spring weather while it lasts. It’s giving us the opportunity to dry out after a very wet late winter season. I’m seeing reports that the El Nino will soon be a thing of the past and that there may actually be a La Nina developing by the time the summer comes. That should help to change our pattern to a drier one by mid-summer, but of course, this is not certain. Predicting long term weather patterns is not at all an exact science. Speaking of long term forecasts, some meteorologists out there are saying that there is going to have a very active hurricane season in the Atlantic basin. Only time will tell. That’s it for now.
