A WET AND COOL SATURDAY IS ON TAP FOR HAMPTON ROADS… SOME SLUSHY SNOW IS POSSIBE ON GRASSY SURFACES NORTH AND WEST OF HAMPTON ROADS… SUNDAY LOOKS DRY AND COOL

A low pressure system from the Gulf of Mexico will move up the East Coast and will intensify as it moves northeastward. Rain has already spread into Hampton Roads and it looks like we’ll have a wet and cool day with a brisk N-NE wind. Areas to our north and west may see a brief changeover to snow as the system pulls away but major problems are not anticipated. Odds are, if there are any accumulations, it will be only on grassy surfaces. If you live out that way, you should monitor the latest forecast as a change in the storm’s track could cause more snow to fall. A major snow event is possible in parts of the Northeast. The low pulls away on Sunday which should make for a sunny day but it will be on the cool side. The next system may affect our region by mid-week and I’ll have more on that system in my Sunday morning post.
