A WET AND WINDY WEDNESDAY NIGHT IS ON TAP FOR HAMPTON ROADS… WE SHOULD SEE IMPROVING WEATHER ON THURSDAY AS THE LOW MOVES AWAY… ANOTHER SYSTEM MAY BRING MORE PRECIPITATION THIS WEEKEND

A low pressure area developing in the Gulf states will track northeastward west of our area. This system will bring us a round of wet weather later Wednesday that should taper off Thursday morning. Winds will steadily increase out of the SE and a Wind Advisory has been posted for the coastal areas. It will be quite a stormy night and our area may see a severe thunderstorm or even a tornado as the system moves through. Please pay attention to the local media for updates. On Thursday, things settle down and it should be a fairly decent day. Colder weather is expected this weekend and a system coming around the trough may bring some wet weather to our area on Saturday. Snow is even possible in the higher elevations of VA. Did you know that November was the wettest November on record for Norfolk International Airport. We exceeded the previous record by nearly two inches at over nine inches of rainfall!
