AFTER A COOL AND DAMP MONDAY, TUESDAY WILL BE VERY NICE… WEDNESDAY LOOKS LIKE ANOTHER NICE DAY, BUT THE FORECAST BEYOND THAT IS VERY UNCERTAIN

Monday was a very cool day for this time of year. Temperatures in the afternoon hovered in the low fifties. As expected, the rainfall totals didn’t amount to much. Tuesday and Wednesday are going to be two wonderful days, with lots of sunshine and light winds. Temperatures will be cooler near the coast, which is very common for this time of year when the winds turn onshore. Then, we enter an extended period of weather that will be challenging for forecasters. A backdoor cold front will be approaching and the exact position of this front will determine our weather through the weekend. Will it be as unsettled as it was last week? Probably not, although it is a possibility. I’ve seen some differences in the forecasts from two local TV meteorologists. One said that we would have a chance of showers/storms each day starting on Thursday and the other said that we would not see much of a chance of rain until late in the weekend. We’ll see how things evolve.
