THE HEAT, HUMIDITY, AND STORMS ARE GONE FOR NOW… HOWEVER, MONDAY MAY BE A BIT WET AT TIMES AS THE FRONT THAT BROUGHT THE COOLER WEATHER TRIES TO RETURN

Sunday was a very warm day here in Hampton Roads. As a cold front approached some areas to our north and west saw thunderstorms late in the afternoon and in the evening. VA Beach missed out on this rain. The front is now well to our south and east and has scoured out the heat and humidity. Mother’s Day will be refreshing as there will be a nice breeze and there will be ample sunshine. Rain chances on Sunday will be non-existent for most of us.┬áThe front will stall south of us and it will begin to move north. At the same time, a wave of low pressure is expected to ride along the boundary. This should be enough to cause some shower activity in the region on Monday along with cool temperatures. We clear out on Tuesday and then we slowly warm up later in the week. This past week’s rainy weather has put a dent in our 2009 deficit as it is now just over two inches officially at ORF.
