THE UNSETTLED WEATHER PATTERN CONTINUES THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY… THUNDER IS POSSIBLE SATURDAY NIGHT… TEMPERATURES RISE ON SATURDAY

Just a quick update on the current weather situation here in Hampton Roads… A warm front is currenly moving through the region causing some rain on this Friday evening. The rain will come to an end late at night but don’t put your umbrellas away just yet. A low pressure system is expected to develop over the Southeastern States on Saturday and this combined with a cold front approaching from the west should cause rain showers to return to the region late on Saturday. There is even a chance of thunderstorms Saturday night as instability increases. Warm air will be surging in ahead of the cold front making Saturday the warmest day we’ve seen in several days. After this next round of wet weather, we should dry out later on Sunday. I’ll have an update on Saturday on the severe weather potential and I’ll look at the extended forecast.
