MILDER AIR IS ON THE WAY BUT SO IS THE RAIN… UNSETTLED WEATHER SHOULD CONTINUE THROUGH THE WEEKEND

After a very chilly morning on Wednesday, clouds will slowly increase but the rain should hold off until early Thursday morning. The cold high pressure system that is centered over Eastern Canada but has been ridging down into the Mid-Atlantic States is finally going to release its grip on our region.  A slow moving frontal system will be approaching Hampton Roads and this should make for a wet Thursday although forecasters don’t anticipate a lot of rain… just some light rain at times. The forecast is very tricky for Friday through Sunday. Clouds will most likely dominate but exactly how much precipitation we receive and when will it occur are the difficult questions. Currently, the thinking is that we will dry out a bit for Friday, but rain chances should increase on Saturday and last into Sunday. Although we’ve received plenty of rainfall this month, we are still running below normal for the year. So, the bottom line is that we warm up a bit on Thursday but we also will see plenty of clouds and some rain is likely and the weekend looks unsettled, too.
