VETERANS DAY LOOKS SUNNY AND NICE AS HIGH PRESSURE HANGS ON ONE MORE DAY… CLOUDS MOVE IN ON WEDNESDAY AS ONSHORE FLOW BRINGS OCEAN MOISTURE IN… RAIN IS EXPECTED ON THURSDAY

The high pressure area that has brought us cool and sunny weather the last few days will be moving off the east coast. This will allow moisture to begin moving in aloft from the southwest and the easterly flow around the departing high will bring moisture at the surface from the Atlantic Ocean. ¬†Although there remians some uncertainty in our forecast for late in the week, rain seems quite likely on Thursday. A low pressure system over the Southern Plains and its associated trough will be spreading cloudiness our way on Wednesday, but the rain is expected to hold off until Thursday.¬†Warmer air should be moving into the region from the south on Friday making it a warmer day, but with a continued chance of a shower. We might see some sun on Friday, but that is very questionable. A cold front approaches on Saturday bringing a chance of heavier showers and maybe even some thunder. Check my weekend posts for rainfall totals. Will we see significant rainfall amounts like we did last week? I picked up 2.25 inches of rain last week. That’s it for now. On this Veteran’s Day, please remember the brave men and women who have fought for this great country.
