A COLD FRONT CROSSES THE MID-ATLANTIC REGION ON SATURDAY BRINGING SCATTERED SHOWERS… SUNDAY SHOULD BE NICE BUT COOLER… HURRICANE PALOMA GAINS STRENGTH AS IT NEARS CUBA

After a cloudy and damp week, the sun came out on Friday and it was a welcome sight. A cold front will be crossing Hampton Roads on Saturday and it will most likely bring a few showers to some parts of the area. Saturday will by no means be a wash out, but if you are going to be outdoors, it won’t hurt to carry an umbrella. This cold front is connected to the large low pressure system that brought the near blizzard conditions to the Northern Plains. On Sunday, the front moves offshore and it really should be a nice day. Monday and Tuesday look decent but as we head into the mid-week period, the forecast gets a bit complicated. Clouds should be on the increase but there is uncertainty as to whether we will see any rain. I’ll have an update on Sunday. Hurricane Paloma has become a category 4 storm as it nears Cuba. The hurricane is moving slowly northeastward.
