THE COASTAL STORM MOVES AWAY… THERE’S NO COLD AIR IN SIGHT… A SHOWER IS POSSIBLE OVER THE WEEKEND

The low pressure that has been crawling up the coast is going to finally move away on Thursday. This storm dumped very heavy rain over the Outer Banks of NC closing schools in some areas. Rain and strong winds spread northward into Hampton Roads dumping between one and two inches of rain here locally. I’ll have the total that fell in my backyard in my next post. Coastal flooding wasn’t that big of an issue with this storm. By Friday, it looks real nice and our wind speeds should drop off. A frontal system moves through over the weekend but the chance of rain seems quite low from this vantage point. A tropical depression has formed in the Western Caribbean Sea. This system shouldn’t be a threat to the US but I will have an update should anything change. Note that hurricane season ends on November 30th.
