DRY WEATHER IS EXPECTED THIS WEEK… TEMPERATURES TUMBLE DURING THE MID-WEEK PERIOD BUT RECOVER AS WE HEAD TOWARDS THE WEEKEND

The frontal system that moved through on Saturday brought about a quarter of an inch of rain to my Virginia Beach neighborhood. Now, we are entering a dry period and aside from a sprinkle on Tuesday, we probably will not see any significant rainfall for quite a while, perhaps through next Saturday. A sharp cold front will cause temperatures to tumble during mid-week but will slowly recover as we head towards next weekend. We still are running a deficit here in Hampton Roads so lets hope that this dry spell doesn’t last too long. Eventually storminess will increase across North America and we just have to hope that the storm track is more southerly this year. This will help to bring up Gulf moisture which plays an important role in our cold season precipitation. We haven’t received significant snowfall since 2004, so hopefully that streak is broken this winter.
