A SOUTHERLY FLOW BRINGS WARMTH AND HUMIDITY TO HAMPTON ROADS… NOT MUCH RAIN FELL AND I DON’T THINK WE’RE GOING TO SEE MUCH ON SATURDAY… SUNDAY LOOKS GREAT… COLDER WEATHER MOVES IN FOR NEXT WEEK

A southerly flow ahead of an approaching cold front will make Saturday almost feel like a day in late summer. Although our official rain chances are 80% from the NWS, i don’t think that we are going to see much today across Hampton Roads. I’m not saying that it will not rain, I just don’t think that we will see that much. Just some occasional light rain will occur. Sunday looks dry for everyone as the front moves offshore. Another cold front will approach early next week bringing what should be the coldest air of the season. A significant dip in the jet stream will allow the cold air to flow into our region. No major precipitation events are expected this upcoming week. Note that the first major lake effect snow situation of the season is likely in some of the usual areas to the lee of the Great Lakes late Tuesday and Wednesday. Winter is on the way!
